With this model you get a good speed of shredding and it can easily handle credit cards. There are a few issues with this model which tend to be pretty minor ones. It’s not designed for coping with large amounts of shredding and being in constant use. The motor will get overloaded so be sure not use it for monthly or yearly paper shredding in a business environment. The Other thing little issue is that the lid can need a little playing with to get it to sit properly after you’ve emptied it. The safety sensors will stop it working until it is positioned correctly

Fellowes have another model available which is a little more capable called the Intellishred SB-89Ci Shredder. Able to shred up to 15 pages at a time this machine can also handle CDs. This can be very hand if you store documents digitally like a lot of companies these days.

The reason the SB-89Ci is a better option than others in this price range is that it has a 20 minute run time. This means that you can literally sit next to the machine and shred for 20 minutes without stopping. This would take care of most personal shredding exercises but if you are looking for more than 20 minute workloads then you should look further.
